CBC (Cyclic block copolymer) – ViviOn™

ViviOn™ is a cyclic block copolymer (CBC), which are fully hydrogenated polymers based on styrene and conjugated di-olefins by anionic polymerization. This advanced material is characterized by remarkable thermal stability, excellent UV resistance, particularly high transparency, low water absorption, low density and outstanding purity.

ECTFE (ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer) – Halar®

Halar® ECTFE is a semi-crystalline and melt-processable fluoropolymer and offers a unique combination of properties such as chemical resistance and high thermal stability. It also has very good mechanical properties due to strong interactions between the chains resulting from hydrogen bonding.

One of the main advantages of Halar® fluoropolymer is its ease of processing. Halar® fluoropolymer is a true thermoplastic that can be processed using conventional extrusion, blow molding, compression molding, injection molding, rotational molding and transfer molding processes.

LCP (Liquid crystal polymer) – Selcion®

Selcion® LCP is a liquid crystal polymer that is characterized by its excellent heat resistance, very good flowability, exceptional dimensional stability and low warpage. It is particularly suitable for delicate E/E applications such as connectors, coilformers, sockets, FPCs and 5G connectors that require a high degree of accuracy and dimensional stability. The Selcion® LCP enables burr-free production during injection molding, coupled with very tight tolerances and short cycle times.

PAEK (Polyaryletherketone) – AvaSpire®

AvaSpire® PAEK is a family of high performance polyketones specifically designed to close the cost and performance gap between PEEK and other high performance polymers. Compared to similar PEEK grades, ductility and toughness can be improved by up to 20%, resulting in 20% higher elongation at yield and twice the elongation at break. The strength and rigidity remain comparable, resulting in up to 30 % lower costs. 

In addition, the product family has a higher stiffness in direct comparison at temperatures from 150 °C to 190 °C (302 °F to 374 °F). With a wall thickness of 0.8 mm, the materials are inherently flame-retardant in accordance with UL 94 V0 classification.

PCT (Polycylcohexylenedimethylene terephtalate) – Skypura®

Skypura® PCT is a polycylcohexylenedimethylene terephthalate (PCT) that is characterized by its very good long-term heat resistance, colour stability and hydrolysis resistance. The product family meets the requirements for materials for the lead-free soldering process and can be used for different types of connectors. With its excellent dielectric properties, impact strength and very good chemical resistance, Skypura® PCT is ideal for E/E applications such as connectors, plugs and LED reflectors.

PEEK (Polyetheretherketones) – KetaSpire®

KetaSpire® PEEK is a polyetheretherketone for highly demanding applications. It is characterized in particular by an excellent combination of fatigue strength and chemical resistance. PEEK offers chemical resistance comparable to that of PPS (polyphenylene sulphide). However, KetaSpire® can be used at higher temperatures and retains its excellent mechanical properties at continuous service temperatures of up to 240 °C (464 °F). The materials can therefore replace metal even in demanding end-use environments.

PES (Polyethersulfones) – Veradel®

Veradel® is a transparent polyethersulfone (PES) with high hydrolysis resistance. It offers high heat deflection temperature, good chemical resistance, excellent electrical properties and is inherently flame retardant. Syensqo's PES product family is suitable for a wide range of applications such as E&E components and cookware (food contact possible), but can also be used in membranes and coatings.

PI (Polyimides) – Vespel®

Vespel® is a high-performance polyimide (PI). One of the strengths of the product family is its outstanding temperature resistance. The materials can be used in applications ranging from cryogenic to very high temperatures, as Vespel® does not melt. In addition, the high-performance polyimide offers high wear resistance and exceptionally high dimensional and creep resistance, both lubricated and unlubricated.

PPE Blends (Polyphenylene blends) – Lumiloy®

Lumiloy® is a polyphenylene blend that is available as a PPE/PS or PPE/PA blend and is used in particular in E&E applications and applications with water contact. The product family is available as unfilled or glass fiber reinforced material, flame retardant or with all relevant water certificates such as KTW, WRAS, ACS or NSF. Lumiloy® PPE is characterized by its excellent hydrolysis resistance, high dimensional stability and very good heat resistance.

Ryton® is a polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) with a high modulus of elasticity. The semi-crystalline polymer offers thermal stability, chemical resistance and dimensional stability. PPSU (Polyphenylsulfones) – Radel®

Radel® is a transparent polyphenylsulfone (PPSU). It offers high heat resistance, high impact strength and outstanding hydrolytic stability. Syensqo's PPSU product family with a high heat deflection temperature of 207°C is suitable for a wide range of applications requiring resistance to steam sterilization, such as medical devices, dental and surgical instruments. The inherently flame-retardant material is also suitable for hot water taps and serving trays.
