PEEK - Polyetheretherketone
KetaSpire® PEEK is a family of polyether ether ketones for highly demanding applications. These high-performance plastics provide an outstanding combination of fatigue resistance and chemical resistance.
PEEK offers a level of chemical resistance comparable to that of PPS (polyphenylene sulfide). However, KetaSpire® can be used at higher temperatures and retains its excellent mechanical properties at sustained temperatures of up to 240°C (464°F). This allows the materials to replace metal even in demanding end application environments.
In addition to its exceptional chemical resistance to organic substances, acids and bases, KetaSpire® offers very good wear and abrasion resistance, excellent fatigue resistance, outstanding dimensional stability and outstanding hydrolysis resistance in boiling water and superheated steam. The materials also function as an excellent dielectric with low loss at high temperatures and frequencies.
KetaSpire® is easy to process and has a high degree of purity. The wide range of performance options also includes glass and carbon fibre-reinforced grades and special grades.
The specified properties make it suitable for applications in many areas. Potential areas of application include additive manufacturing, aerospace, automotive construction, healthcare, oil and gas, and semiconductors.
