Distributor expands polymer additive portfolio with flame-retardant solutions
Hamburg, April 28, 2026 – Biesterfeld, one of the internationally leading distribution and service companies in the fields of plastics, rubber, specialty chemicals and ingredients, is expanding its portfolio in the area of polymer additives. In the course of the partnership with Alpha Calcit, one of the leading suppliers of white fillers for numerous industrial sectors, Biesterfeld will add the ALFRIMAL® flame-retardant products to its portfolio, while also contributing to the expansion of Alpha Calcit’s existing distribution network. This partnership enables Biesterfeld to offer the ALFRIMAL® and ALFRIMAL® MG product lines to producers in the masterbatch and compounding sectors with small to medium demand volumes across Europe, including Turkey. Local warehousing will also contribute to faster and more reliable supply.
The ALFRIMAL® product family comprises aluminum trihydroxide (ATH) and magnesium hydroxide (MDH) as halogen-free flame retardants, which are used, among other applications, in the masterbatch and compounding sectors. They are primarily employed in the formulation of flame-retardant polymer compounds and offer a high-performance as well as cost-effective solution for a wide range of plastic applications.
