Most parenteral packaging components or medical devices require the use of some form of surface treatment or lubrication in order to improve their processability and functionality.
The Liveo™ 360 Medical Fluids are pure PDMS fluids used for lubrication, siliconization of various medical devices. The most prominent examples being the lubrication of syringe barrels and cutting edges. Moreover, these non-curing siliconization fluids are also frequently used for the lubrication of catheter guidewires.
The Liveo™ 366 35% Dimethicone NF Emulsion is a water-based emulsion containing 35% of Liveo™ 360 Medical Fluid, 350 cSt. The emulsion is specifically designed for the siliconization of glass syringes. After bake-on siliconization the emulsion forms a highly stable hydrophobic film.
The Liveo™ MDX4-4159 50% Medical Grade Dispersion is specifically designed for the lubrication/siliconization of stainless steel surfaces, e.g. syringe needles and cannula. The amino-functionalized polymer forms covalent bonds with reactive groups on suitable surfaces forming a highly durable silicone layer.
The Liveo™ Q7-9180 Silicone Fluids are either Hexamethyldisiloxane (0,65 cSt.) or Octamethyltrisiloxane (1 cSt.) and serve as solvents/process aids for the Liveo™ 360 Medical Fluids and the Liveo™ MDX4-4159 50% Medical Grade Dispersion.
