Hamburg, 16 July 2024 - International distributor Biesterfeld, and DuPont, a global innovation leader with technology-based materials and solutions, are expanding their collaboration. Biesterfeld has been appointed as an authorized distributor for Vespel® polyimide parts and shapes in Italy, Norway, Finland, Denmark and South Africa with immediate effect.
DuPont™ Vespel® is a high-performance polyimide (PI). In demanding applications, it outperforms other engineering materials, particularly due to its excellent wear and temperature resistance. The products withstand extreme temperatures and can continuously be operated from cryogenic temperatures to 288˚C, with short-term use to 482° C and above. In addition, the different grades are characterized by an exceptionally high dimensional stability and creep resistance. The products are easy to process and are available both in the form of finished or semi-finished parts, which makes the Vespel® product family extremely versatile.
Examples of industries in which Vespel® products are used include Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial, Electronics & Energy. Potential applications include transmission systems, electrical motors, bushings, compressors, scientific instrumentation and electronic testing.
