After Munich in 2009, in-cosmetics finally returned to Germany. For the first time Hamburg hosted the biggest event in the beauty care business - a home match for Biesterfeld Spezialchemie, headquartered in the centre of Hamburg.
„At our stand which we shared with our partners Dow Corning and KAO Chemicals, we had lots of interesting discussions with our customers and partners regarding up-to-date and innovative raw materials, trends and various concept ideas. We successfully launched our new Anti-Age Kit „Younger than ever – from top to toe”. This kit features eleven formulations focusing on Anti-Aging designed for every part of the body and was very well received by the visitors”, explains Inge Gotthardt, Business Manager LifeScience, Biesterfeld Spezialchemie GmbH.
Apart from launching its‘ second Trend Lab which provides insight on trends around the globe, Dow Corning, Biesterfeld Spezialchemie‘s partner for silicones, introduced high-performance silicone products: Dow Corning® ES-5600 Silicone Glycerol Emulsifier, a new diglycerol modified emulsifier for W/Si and W/O emulsions with high oil-phase flexibility and excellent emulsification performance, suitable for PEG-free formulations. Dow Corning® EP-9801 Hydro Elastomer, a hydrophilic silicone elastomer powder, is easy-to use in water-based formulations and provides a silky powdery skin feel, wrinkle masking and soft focus effect. And Dow Corning® CE-1874 Microemulsion, a silicone polyether emulsion designed for hair protection, enhanced volume and hair repair.
KAO Chemicals presented the latest conditioning agent. Sofcare® GP-1 is suitable for hair care as well as for skin care applications, allows clear shampoo formulations and provides a silicone-like feel in the dry stage.
Our partner DuPont Tate & Lyle BioProducts displayed its latest technical bulletin, highlighting the benefits of Zemea® in anti-dandruff formulations. Zemea® is a natural based propanediol as an alternative to traditional glycols.
