Biesterfeld, one of the internationally leading distribution and service companies in the fields of plastics, rubber, specialty chemicals and ingredients, and Bostik, the adhesive solutions segment of Arkema and a leading global player in specialty adhesives, have entered into a distribution agreement for selected medical adhesive solutions.
Effective immediately, Biesterfeld will offer three key medical adhesive product lines from Bostik, further strengthening its portfolio for the medical device industry. The agreement includes Cyanoacrylates (CAs) and UV-curing Cyanoacrylates, Epoxies (1K and 2K systems), and Hotmelt Polyurethanes (PUs). The product portfolio supports manufacturers of medical components and devices that require reliable bonding solutions for complex assemblies and demanding production environments. Both companies have already collaborated successfully in the field of performance products.
Addressing demanding medical device requirements
As medical devices continue to evolve, manufacturers face increasing requirements regarding precision, process reliability and product performance. Bostik’s medical-grade adhesive technologies address these challenges through fast curing, high bond strength and reliable adhesion to transparent and non-transparent substrates. The solutions also enable the bonding of materials with different characteristics, including varying durometers, low-surface-energy materials and components with shadowed areas.
The products are particularly suited for demanding medical applications such as surgical instruments, IV sets and endoscopes, where consistent performance, durable bonds and high-quality standards play a critical role.
