Hamburg, 23. September 2025 – Biesterfeld, one of the international leading distribution and service companies in the field of plastics, rubber, specialty chemicals and ingredients, and Tereos, a diversified cooperative, with activities across multiple segments of the value chain including sugar, grains, animal feed, consumer products, as well as outside activities including pharmaceuticals, paper and energy, are expanding their long-standing and successful partnership. With immediate effect Biesterfeld receives new distribution right for Switzerland.
Both companies have been working together successfully since 2003 and have continuously extended the partnership to the current geographical region including: Germany, Austria, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and now Switzerland.
The extended partnership includes the following products:
Sorbitol, granulated & screened sucrose, spray dried sucrose and other sucrose solutions, maize starch, dried maltodextrin, dried glucose syrup, glucose monohydrate as well as maltitol.
Tereos excipients can be used in various forms:
- as liquid dosage forms for solutions, syrups and suspensions
- as solid dosage forms for powder mixes, wet & dry granulations as well as tablets and direct compressions
- for medicated confectionery such as hard boiled candies & Lozenges, gums and pastilles and chewing gum
Tereos excipients can be applied in different areas:
- In the pharmaceutical industry: products for many conditions such as minor throat irritations, coughs, colds, respiratory tract congestion, allergies as well for dental hygiene products.
- In the personal care industry: all types of cosmetic applications such as moisturizing creams, skin cleansing, sunscreen and shampoos.
- In the nutraceuticals industry: tablets, capsules, powder, liquids for supplements.
