Biesterfeld and Scott Bader, a global manufacturer of advanced composites, structural adhesives and functional polymers, have further expanded their successful partnership to Finland. With immediate effect Biesterfeld Finland Oy will distribute polyester resins (Crystic®, Crestapol®, Crestamould®, Crestafire®), gelcoats (Crystic®) and adhesives (Crestomer®). The products are relevant for various customer industries, including the marine industry, rail industry, wind power industry and general composites industry.
The products are characterized by their aesthetic quality, improved strength and rigidity as well as their excellent water and weather resistance. They have many applications in the marine industry in particular, from the manufacture of hulls and flybridges to deck and hull bonding and the reinforcement of cores and stringers. The gelcoats provide a superior surface coating with properties such as bubble-free and an optimized strength-to-weight ratio, making them a preferred material in marine manufacturing. The adhesives ensure reliable bonding in various applications, enabling durable bonding of materials such as GRP cores and structures.
The diverse range of fire retardant resins and gelcoats provide complete systems for the most demanding fire, smoke and toxic fume (FST) rail applications while meeting European and global rail industry standards and performance requirements.
