Hamburg, 26th November 2024 Biesterfeld one of the leading international distributors of specialty chemical products, pharma and food ingredient, has entered into a new partnership with Anomera® Inc, a Canadian manufacturer of sustainable cellulose advanced materials, with immediate effect. As part of this new cooperation, Biesterfeld is expanding its product portfolio in the field of Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers (CASE) to include the nanocellulose products DextraCel® HS and DextraCel® HP. The partnership covers distribution rights in several European countries: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and Ukraine.
Nanocellulose as a sustainable solution for industrial applications
DextraCel® HS and DextraCel® HP are based on nanocellulose particles derived from responsibly managed Canadian, FSC®-certified forests (License Code FSC® - C186262). Made from 100% cellulose without additives, DextraCel enhances mechanical benefits like scratch, stain, and abrasion resistance, while maintaining flexibility and increasing surface hardness. Its shear-thinning properties simplify processing in water-based formulations, making it suitable for a broad range of coatings applications, including floor coatings (wood and concrete), automotive interiors, paints, inks, varnishes, and leather and textile coatings.
‘The partnership with Biesterfeld not only gives us access to European markets, but also allows us to distribute our advanced cellulose technologies through an established and experienced partner,’ says Benoit Garant, the CEO and President of Anomera® Inc. ’Biesterfeld's extensive distribution structure and deep market understanding make them the ideal choice to position our products in a variety of industries in an efficient and targeted manner. We are confident that this collaboration will allow us to not only expand our customer base, but also better serve the industry's needs for high-performance, environmentally friendly materials.’
Advantages of DextraCel® products: Performance and sustainability
Biesterfeld sees this cooperation as a strategic expansion of its portfolio to offer customers sustainable and high-performance materials. Kathrin Jordan, Market Manager Coatings at Biesterfeld, explains: ‘The integration of nanocellulose products into our portfolio gives us the opportunity to offer our customers innovative and at the same time environmentally friendly solutions. The combination of performance and sustainability is a decisive factor that helps our customers to better fulfil their own requirements.’
