For the third time our partner DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products Company, LLC, has awarded companies, which use the ingredient Zemea® in their formulations, with the Zemea® Innovation Award. Zemea® is a 1,3-Propanediol extracted from feed maize with excellent humectation and sensory characteristics, which in contrast to traditional glycols exhibits very low potential for skin irritation as well as acting as a preservative booster and offering versatile application possibilities.
Biesterfeld Spezialchemie is delighted that two of its customers rank among this year's award winners:
In the "Personal Care Ingredients" section, our customer CAM-D Technologies has been selected with its innovative CAMDsorb® odour absorbers. The patented CAM-D odour absorbers are zinc-based solids that are easily soluble in water and able to absorb odour molecules. Zemea® serves as a reaction medium during production and is also effective as a preservative booster. In the future, closer cooperation with CAM-D Technologies GmbH is intended as CAMDsorb® can be used in Household and Cosmetic applications.
The awards ceremony took place at the Biesterfeld headquarters in Hamburg. Peter von den Kerkhoff, Representative from DuPont Tate & Lyle, presented Dr. Hubert Kuhn and his colleague Dr. Anna Maria Fiethen from the Essen-based CAM-D Technologies with the prize.
Only a few weeks before, the company Straub GmbH received the Zemea® Innovation Award in the area "Consumer Products" at its offices in Wertheim for its use of Zemea® in the Marbert® product line.
Both companies were invited to donate $ 1,500 each to a charitable organisation. The donation from Straub went to the Aktion Regenbogen charity, while CAM-D Technologies is supporting a sponsorship in India with the funds.
