Antibacterials / Aminoglycoside
Aminoglycosides have an aminocyclitol group with a glycosidically bonded amino sugar.
Aminoglycosides destroy bacteria primarily by interrupting the protein synthesis of the bacteria. They are therefore especially effective against rapidly reproducing organisms.
Aminoglycosides act against aerobic, gram-negative bacteria, broad-spectrum aminoglycosides, and also against some gram-positive bacteria.
Areas of application:
Frequently topical for the treatment of local infections in eyes and ears.
