The Performance Rubber Business Unit of Biesterfeld Plastic GmbH integrates Kuettner GmbH and continues to grow accross Europe

Synergy effects connected with the integration of Küttner GmbH in Biesterfeld Plastic are speeding up the continuous expansion of the Performance Rubber Business Unit throughout Europe.
In the future Küttner will act as an independent business segment within Biesterfeld Plastic GmbH.

Since the acquisition of Küttner GmbH by Biesterfeld in January 2013 there has been a continuous expansion of the existing product portfolio of the Performance Rubber Business Unit, which now generates a turnover of more than EUR 30 million throughout Europe.

In the future, Küttner’s sales team will mainly focus on the rubber processing market segments and wire & cable extrusion -, whilst the Biesterfeld Plastic GmbH sales team will concentrate its efforts on the distribution of plastic materials.

Sascha Hennig, Manager of the European Business Unit, Performance Rubber and of the Römerberg location comments: “From our base in Römerberg we will be pressing ahead with the extension of our Performance Rubber activities throughout Europe, which have already made a successful start with the purchase of the business activities of the French Company SMPC (Spécialités et Matières Premières du Caoutchouc) S.A. three years ago".

The successful integration of products from Küttner GmbH and SMPC S.A.’s suppliers into the existing portfolio of Biesterfeld Plastic GmbH has resulted in a complete range of rubber polymers and elastomers across Europe.

The current partners of Biesterfeld Plastic’s Performance Rubber Business Unit include Exxon Mobil, Cabot Corporation, LG Chemical, Chi Mei, INEOS, Masteradditives, Stephenson and Dow Corning.

Thanks to potential synergies in purchasing, warehousing and logistics, operational and administrative processes will be optimised to the advantage of both customers and suppliers.
