In 2015, Biesterfeld AG, Hamburg, increased its operating profit significantly with stable revenues of approximately €1.1 bn. With the latest results, the 110-year-old business group continues to pursue its long-term growth strategy.
The Biesterfeld Group succeeded in growing its earnings during 2015. At €1.1bn, revenues remained solid at the previous year's level. Throughout the past year, corporate structures were targeted for development while business activities and the product portfolio underwent further expansion. Overall, operating profit increased to €40.1m. CEO of Biesterfeld AG, Thomas Arnold, commented: "2015 was a very successful year for us. Thanks to our long-standing and close cooperation with customers and suppliers, not to mention generally positive developments in the economic situation, we were able to raise the operating profit of the Biesterfeld Group to a record level."
Alongside its extensive product range, the group relies on strong collaboration with suppliers from among the world's market leaders. Its strategic focus centres on a service-orientated offering of plastics, chemical specialities and commodities. "We don't just offer our customers products, above all we offer solutions. Product know-how and technical advice regarding applications play an important role, as do support with formulations and laboratory expertise", explained Thomas Arnold. "Intensive and innovative consultations by our staff are essential in this respect. Our choice of strategic focus has been validated by both customers and the market.”
The family-owned group plans to continue its consistent and sustained growth in 2016. Aside from extending the product portfolio, attention will also be directed toward geographic expansion.
