Biesterfeld Spezialchemie Ibérica S.L.U., a subsidiary of the Biesterfeld Group, has merged with the Biesterfeld Ibérica S.L.U. subsidiary. The Biesterfeld Group will now be a one-stop supplier for plastics, rubbers and basic and specialty chemicals in the Iberian market. The general managers of the two individual companies, Joan-Enric Bruguera and Enric Garcia, will continue to manage the operations of the new, enlarged Biesterfeld Ibérica entity, which now consists of the two existing Spanish offices in Sant Just Desvern, Barcelona, and Mataró, Barcelona, as well as the Portuguese branch office in Porto.
Thomas Arnold, CEO of Biesterfeld AG, explains: "This merger has taken place as part of our overall 'One Biesterfeld' strategy, which aims to achieve a uniform market presence and a strong focus on business activities. Having more effective structures in place will make us more agile. It increases our ability to respond even quicker to the challenges of the Iberian chemicals, rubber and plastics markets, and it will help Biesterfeld Ibérica to achieve sustainable growth in the future."
Additionally, combining the two subsidiaries will make Biesterfeld’s processes and management systems much more efficient. This overarching strategy will also enable us to generate synergies between sites and improve the processing of our Iberian business activities.
"We used this merger as an opportunity to optimise our processes and structures: now, we can provide our customers with everything from a single source, whilst also offering them even better service," outlines Enric Garcia. Joan-Enric Bruguera, formerly the Managing Director of Biesterfeld Spezialchemie Ibérica S.L.U., adds: "We want to push forward with our strategic focus on specialised products and further expand our range of products and services. An essential component of this work is that we will strengthen our focus on targeted technical advice and support services, which we will continue to develop for the future."
