Product description

Thermx® is a semi-crystalline, glass fibre-reinforced polycyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate (PCT), which is characterised by high temperature resistance with a short-term heat deflection temperature of up to 260 °C. The filler content of short glass fibres is between 20 and 30 %.

In addition to temperature resistance, Thermx® is characterised by dimensional stability, high electrical properties, high flowability, colourability, hydrolytic stability and excellent surface quality. Flame-retardant grades in accordance with UL 94 are also available.

Thermx® is also chemically resistant to all liquids used in motor vehicles and chemical cleaning agents for printed circuit boards. Applications for demanding components can be found, for example, in the automotive industry and in electrical engineering. Thermx® PCT is used, for example, as a connector for printed circuit boards or for innovative LED lighting systems.

Processing is similar to other polyesters (PET, PBT) and can be carried out on conventional injection moulding machines.
