Silicone and Hybrid Resins
Silikophen®, Silikoftal®, Silikopon®, Silikotop®, Silikopur®
Product description
For producers of coatings with special resistances our supplier EVONIK offers an interesting portfolio of organomodified silicone resins. Depending on the application the Silikophen®-, Silikoftal®-, Silikotop®-, Silikopon®- und Silikopur® products enable excellent features.
The trademark Silikophen® summarises all phenyl methyl silicone resins for heat-resistant coatings (>300 °C). The products are either applicable for physical drying systems or oven cured systems. The resins are used for muffler systems, fire places, industrial ovens or combustion chambers.
With silicone polyester resins of the name Silikoftal® enamel coatings with lower, but long-lasting heat resistance, can be processed (up to 200 °C). Because of their broad food contact approval, they are suited for non-stick coatings for cook- and bakeware.
The high solid polyester resins of the Silikotop®-series can be used as binders but also co-binders. They improve flexibility and weather resistance of corrosion protection systems. Due to their low VOC content and low processing viscosity they are especially suited for high solid systems.
Silikopon® resins are silicone epoxide hybrids systems, which are combining the properties of classic 2K epoxy coatings and silicone resin topcoats. Ideally the formulation of one layer systems for challenging applications becomes possible. They are used for applications with high heat resistance requirements (enamel coatings), but also for top coatings for high solid metal and concrete coatings (2K isocyanate free). They are distinguished by their high corrosion protection, their excellent chemical and weather resistance, their gloss and colour stability.
The silicone modified polyurethane dispersion of Silikopur® 8081 can be used for very flexible coating systems. Applications are in coatings on elastomers as well as on leather, wood and plastics. Additionally to flexibility this binder improves properties like anti-blocking, slip, haptic and abrasion resistance, but still remains recoatable.
