Biesterfeld Simko Distribuição S.A., the Brazilian joint venture belonging to Biesterfeld Plastic, has appointed Walter Atolino as Commercial Director Brazil. He is taking over the operational responsibilities of Enric Albert, who retired at the end of January after a total of 20 years with Biesterfeld.
After spending 10 years as Managing Director of the Spanish subsidiary Biesterfeld Ibérica S.L.U. and the Brazilian subsidiary Biesterfeld Simko Distribuição S.A., Enric Albert retired on 31st January 2017. His successor with responsibility for sales and purchasing activities in Brazil is Walter Atolino. Atolino (55) has worked for Biesterfeld since September 2016 and has been Commercial Director since February 2017.

During a 30-year career, Walter Atolino has gained extensive experience in sales, industry, product marketing and product development in leading companies such as DuPont, Nalco, Pirelli and Ford. Atolino, who studied plastic and metal engineering and economics, is delighted with his new role: “Our personal consulting and development work, combined with technology-based expertise, is what makes us successful on the market. Together with my sales team, I intend to continue the very positive development of our business and continuously develop our product portfolio. At the end of 2016, we successfully added Vistalon®, an EPDM rubber from ExxonMobil Chemical, to the portfolio. We will follow this with the addition of other high-performing plastic and rubber raw materials.”
