The Biesterfeld group continued its successful track record of business development in 2018. With consolidated revenue of €1.2 billion, the family-owned business achieved an operating result of €53.9 million. With this positive development, the distributor exceeded expectations and reinforced its position as market leader in selected segments of the international chemicals and plastics market.
The family-owned company generated its organic growth primarily on the European markets. All four operating business divisions made a positive contribution to this sustainable development. The group succeeded in expanding its market shares both within Europe and beyond and in adding new partners and products to its portfolio to enable ongoing developments over the long term. In addition to a focus on technically sophisticated solutions requiring close consultation, and an expansion of the corresponding product and service portfolio, Biesterfeld sees partnerships with customers and suppliers based on trust built up over many years to be the central growth driver.
