Biesterfeld expands product portfolio with Vistalon™ EPDM rubber from ExxonMobil

Hamburg, 02.04.2025 – Biesterfeld is expanding its strategic relationship with ExxonMobil Petroleum and Chemical BV and adding new Vistalon™ EPDM grades to its product portfolio in Europe, including Türkiye, and Africa with immediate effect. The collaboration, which has existed for many years, offers new opportunities in the European rubber market thanks to the broader portfolio.

The EPDM product family from ExxonMobil includes both Ziegler-Natta and metallocene grades, manufactured in two world regions with three assets providing a flexible and robust supply chain. The products are characterized by particularly good physical properties and outstanding processing advantages compared to natural and general-purpose rubbers. For example, Vistalon™ EPDM offers ozone and UV resistance as well as heat resistance. Further advantages of the products are the elastic properties under compression and electrical insulation for low and medium voltage cables. The products are available in both pellet and bale form. Thanks to these properties, Vistalon™ EPDM can be used in numerous demanding applications in automotive, consumer goods and industrial applications.

Lennart Kalytta, Head of Sales Rubber at Biesterfeld, says: "The expansion of our product portfolio, together with our long-standing supplier ExxonMobil, offers our customers great opportunities to optimize their manufacturing processes. The versatility of Vistalon™ EPDM, especially in complex applications, makes it attractive for our customers as this enables us to provide custom solutions to meet their specific requirements."

Aymeric Fillaudeau, Europe, Middle-East, and Africa Sales Manager for ExxonMobil Elastomers & Resins, adds: ”We are very pleased to offer this diverse Vistalon™ EPDM rubber portfolio to the rubber market. This brings new opportunities and, with Biesterfeld, we will continue this journey together to find customer focused solutions.”
