Release Agents
Product description
Release agents are applied to the surface of moulds to prevent adhesion of the fibre composites to the mould. They are crucial for a good surface quality of the final product. Depending on the application, wax-based, semi-permanent and water-based release agents can be selected.
Wax-based release agents are the classic system, though it is used less and less. However, they provide very high lubricity and are used further in the demoulding of tubular composite materials, which shrink very tightly on the mould. Semi-permanent release agents are used most frequently and offer the advantage that one-time waxing and polishing are not necessary. They bond with the mould surface and form a chemically and mechanically resistant layer. Because they are physiologically harmless, water-based release agents are also increasingly used.
