Chlorobutyl (CIIR)
Exxon™ Chlorobutyl
Product description
Exxon™ Chlorobutyl Rubber is a chlorinated copolymer of isobutylene and isoprene (CIIR) with improved compression set and better resistance to heat, ozone and flex fatigue compared to regular butyl. Chlorobutyl Rubber offers a low permeability to gases and moisture, low glass transition temperature, low compression set and a wide vulcanization versatility. The ExxonMobil CIIR product range with good adhesion and compatibility to other rubber is suitable for a wide range of applications like tire innerliners, curing bladders, hoses, tank linings, friction pads and membranes but also applicable for pharmaceutical stoppers and conveyor belts. It is available with 1.26 % Chlorine and a Mooney viscosity of 38 (ML 1+8,125°C).
