Crastin®
Product description
Crastin® is the registered trademark of Celanese for its thermoplastic polyesters based on polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). The applications are manifold and are mainly in the fields of electronics, household appliances, automotive engineering but also in office technology, mechanical engineering, apparatus engineering as well as leisure and sports. In detail, the applications include connectors, housings, switch parts, cosmetic sleeves, coilformers, lamp sockets and lighting screens. In terms of mechanical properties, Crastin® scores with high strength and toughness as well as outstanding static and dynamic long-term behavior. Further advantages also lie in physical properties, since Crastin® grades are dimensionally stable even at high ambient temperatures, have a high heat deflection temperature and high abrasion and wear resistance. Products with flame retardancy V-0 according to UL94, which are partly halogen-free, are also available. In addition, the electrical properties are excellent and some special grades have a very high arc resistance and tracking resistance. Crastin® PBT offers an excellent surface quality and homogeneous color adjustments are possible.
